ah,good point but all is not lost,i spent about 3 months with one of the most knowledgable fitters you could wish to meet to learn all the tricks,tips and methods to do with descaling boilers and flushing systems(we were contractors to the gas board,a firm called heat efficiency,sadly no longer trading)anyway on my very first job on my own i got sent to a descale flush i got there the customer informed me that the gas board had fitted a replacement wall hung boiler and it would cut out before the rads would get hot,the only alteration was that the gas board had sited the boiler along on the wall about a metre from where the original boiler it was a brand new boiler there was no need for me to descale it so i got rigged up and proceeded to flush the system out,the water in the system was as clear as could be and there were no restrictions through any of the rads,i mopped out the leftovers in the header tank and refilled the system. Finally, just so you know apparantley the gas man who did the commisioning said that if you are running the hot tap for a long time, don't be suprised that the pipe to the radiatiors will get hot, apparantley to protect the pump/boiler when it gets hot, it is the quickest way to keep it cool to send heat through to the rads.
