Putting a boiler in the kitchen would be slightly cheaper but would use up some valuable cupboard space (my kitchen is very small) and would require running hot water a long way to the hot water tank. Neither option sounded particularly appealing and both would cost in excess of $4,000. Ouch, that can wait until another day.
